I was wondering what it takes for a woman to be every mans dream girl. For a dream woman, her beauty would have to transcend racial prejudice and still be attractive to the wealthy, poor, intelligent and those of lower intelligence. She would have to appear inviting to all classes and walks of life. How could it be done? Could it be a beautiful smile, supreme intelligence, inner strength, smooth skin, attractive face or a bangin body? Out of all of the above you would be hard pressed to find someone who has all of those attributes. In looking for my next dime I finally came across someone who embodies all of these qualities and more. For those that are not religious, she will make you believe that there is a God and he definitely created her. Ladies and gentleman, please brace yourselves for one of the most beautiful, intelligent, down to earth, sophisticated and coolest women walking the face of the earth. Her name is Alysa Lexi.

RJACKMAN.COM: Alysa, thanks for taking the time to converse with us here at rj.com. Its a pleasure to meet you. Ive interviewed a lot of up and coming models but it seems as though youve already arrived. How did you get into modeling?

LEXI: Thanks! Nice to meet you as well. I was spotted by a photographer who worked for an agency and I went in and interviewed with the agency and they signed me on the spot. Two weeks later I was booking jobs. The rest is history!

RJACKMAN.COM: Youre 5 10 and for real. You must have intimidated the hell out of the other contestants! What was your first big gig that you landed? Also, if you can, describe the feelings and emotions that you had when you started, then completed the job?

I guess i’ve landed a lot of “big jobs.” I’ve walked the runway for some of the world’s top designers, but my best job was when I was modeling in the British Virgin Islands for Jose Cuervo Tequila. I had always wanted to model on a tropical island and be pampered and this job was right up my alley. (smile!) I was very excited before the job. I had a lot of anticipation. I was never nervous or anything though. The job went smoothly. It was my best modeling job yet. After completing the job I was kind of sad because I didn’t want to leave the island.

RJACKMAN.COM: Tell us some of the companies and lines that youve modeled for.

LEXI: - I’ve modeled for Procter and Gamble. They make products such as Tide, Pantene, Always, Charmin, Pampers, ect, TJ Maxx, JC Penny, Cintas, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Bill Blass, Antonio Melani, St. John, Black Men’s Magazine, Urban Mens Magazine, Smooth Magazine, Dub Magazine, David’s Bridal, Bridal and Formal, Vanity Fair, Framesi (Italian Hair Products), Redken, Alterna, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, Hanes… The list goes on and on . My resume is very long.

RJACKMAN.COM: Youve modeled internationally. Besides the Virgin Islands, what was the best location that you’ve worked and why?

LEXI: -Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands are running very close together. If I had to choose justo one I would say the British Virgin islands because the scenery looked like something out of a magazine and I seriously felt like I was a queen while I was there. lol!

RJACKMAN.COM: Was there ever a point that you felt you couldnt make it in this business?

LEXI: -I’ve definately had my share of naysayers. People always told me how hard it would be and I would always say “yeah hard, but not impossible.” I’ve had agents tell me my forehead wasn’t big enough, my complexion wasn’t light enough or dark enough, I weight too much, etc. But when one door closed I went banging on the next one. I believe in myself and I know what I’m capable of better than anyone so I just kept on pushing and striving for my dreams.

RJACKMAN.COM: What keeps you motivated to stay so successful?

LEXI: -Money!! No seriously though I really enjoy what I do. I am extremely comforable in front of people as well as the camera. A lot of people can’t say that they thoroughly enjoy their jobs, but I definately can.

RJACKMAN.COM: To date, what do you feel is your biggest accomplishment in your career?

LEXI: - I think my biggest accomplishment is to be able to be a full time model and and be booked enough to where I do not have to have a 9-5 job. Modeling pays my bills and there aren’t a lot of models that can say they are full time models without another source of income. I feel I’m blessed in that respect.

RJACKMAN.COM: What was your most embarrassing moment in your career that you can look back on and laugh at?

LEXI: - One time I was modeling a wedding gown and almost tripped on the train of the gown, but luckily at this runway show we were dancing on the runway so I just played it off…. It was funny to me though.

RJACKMAN.COM: Most aries I know are arrogant pricks! What keeps you so grounded and humble?

LEXI: -Wow really? I’ve never heard that before! I definately have to attribute that to my upbringing. My parents are very grounded individuals. They are extremely successful now, but both of them grew up in “not so great” neighborhoods and not the best conditions. They always taught me and my sister to value and appreciate the opportunities and benefits that were afforded to us.

RJACKMAN.COM: What experience or teaching in your life made you realize that you were so beautiful?

LEXI: -As a child I used to like to prance around in my mother’s clothing, but then my sister started playing basketball and I wanted to be just like her. I kind of turned into a tom boy. Then in middle school the boys started paying me attention adn telling me I should model but my mother was totally against it. She didn’t want her child to be exploited.

RJACKMAN.COM: We understand that youre into acting now. Can you tell us what youve done and where you are in that aspect of your career?

LEXI: -Yeah I’m one of the newest faces on the acting scene. I acutally just shot my first role as a lead last month. The production company was impressed with my performance and offered me another movie right after. We wrapped for the first one so I consider myself very luck. That rarely happens to unkown talent in hollywood. I have another big feature film that I will start production on in September. Today, I actually shot a presentation for a T.V. show. I was very excited to sign my first network television contract. The concept of the show is original and unique. I think viewers are going to appreciate it. other than that I have another T.V. show that I’m doing in the fall that will air on the H.D. network and I’m looking over scripts for future projects. I’ve been really busy lately but I’m loving it!

RJACKMAN.COM: Im going to list a few categories. Give me the first name that comes to mind then explain why. The first is your favorite athlete.

LEXI: - Michael Jordan… No explanation needed!

RJACKMAN.COM: Favorite food.

LEXI: - Everything… I’m such a pig, but I really like Italian and chinese. I love sushi too!

RJACKMAN.COM: Favorite actor.

LEXI: - Morgan Freeman… He’s been in the game since the 50’s. I was very excited when I met him in person and I don’t get too excited easily. He is a very warm and inviting individual and I have the utmost respect for him.

RJACKMAN.COM: Favorite actress.

LEXI: Halle Berry… She has an amazing story and she’s from Ohio…. Heyyyy!!!!!!

RJACKMAN.COM: Your hero.

LEXI: - My mother … She has come from the “ghetto” to the get “mo” as she likes to call it. She’s an amazing businesswoman. She is definitelywhere I get my business sense from. She is self employed and she is the reason I never wanted to work for anyone but myself. I consider myself a business and I market myself to the best of my ability.

RJACKMAN.COM: Favorite musician

LEXI: - Stevie Wonder… When I met him in person after he performed at the Tri Destiny Inner City Awards I told him his performance almost made me cry because he sang my all time favorite song “Love” and he hugged me and kissed me gently on the cheek and said “sweetheart don’t cry”. It meant so much to me. He is a legend and I was honored to be in his presence and talk to him for a couple minutes after that. The man is a mastermind!

RJACKMAN.COM: Are you the romantic type?

LEXI: -Yes I’m in love and I do any and everything for my man. I spoil him so much.

RJACKMAN.COM: We have our own opinions and things that we see in you. However, if asked, what would you say separates you from the average model/actress?

LEXI: -My personality. My personality and smile are what peopl like about me. I’m so goofy and silly in person people tell me they can’t help but to like me because I’m always smiling. I have a lot ot be happy about and I think that my happy modd uplifts the people that are around me. No one wants to be around a grouch all the time because that can bring your spirits down. So when you see me more than likely I will hve a big kool - Aid grin on my face.The producers of the first movie I shot said they loved my personality so much that they offered me a second movie. So having a positive personality pays off.

RJACKMAN.COM: Its been rumored that you carried a 3.7 GPA in college. What was your major and why did you choose that field?

LEXI: That’s not a rumor. It’s true! I majored in communications and also took some drama classes as well. I graduated from high school with a 4.6 too because I was in advanced placement classes. My mother was strict on me and my sister when it came to education. Plus, we would get $100 if we got straight A’s so that was a good incentive to me.

RJACKMAN.COM: Back in the day they might have considered or call you a geek and four eyes. I dont imagine you wearing pigtails at all though. What was the response of your classmates to your GPA?

LEXI: - Well I was in advanced placement classes in high school so everyone around me was smart and in college. People really didn’t know I was smart until they came in my dorm roon and saw my Dean’s list certificates and they’d be liek “dang Alysa, I didn’t know you were smart” like I just looked stupid or something. lol. But I wouldn’t go around and brag about it. I guess I didn’t have that “smart and studious” look. Oh and I did wear pigtails when I was younger!

RJACKMAN.COM: Do you prefer the intellectual kind of man, hood dude or a combination?

LEXI: -My man is both so I would say a combination. He is so hood but very intellectual. He talks to my mom on the phone a lot and she says the thing she likes most about him is his intelligence.

RJACKMAN.COM: Do you normally look more to the inside of a man or the outside? Before you answer that question, I want you to think of this scenario. What if a man approached you with a flat top? In addition to that, he had jerry curls and a shag at the back. So now youre working with a jerry curled, soul glow, flat top and a shag. However, he was the most charming, brilliant, funny and well dressed man that youve encountered. How would you handle that?

LEXI: - Dang how are you gonna be the best dressed man with a jerry curled flat toop and a shag! lol. I used to say that initially looks are the first thing that attracts you to someone but as I’ve grown up conversation is more attractive to me. If a man can hold a meaningful conversation with me that is definitely a turn on. Some of my friends and family think that in the recent past I haven’t dated the most attractive men, but there are other atrributes that are so much more important to me than looks right now. I must say that the man I have now is sexxxxy! lol!

RJACKMAN.COM: When you were younger, Im sure all your classmates had crushes on you. Did you have crushes on any of your classmates or were you more the point-dexter type that was into your books?

LEXI: - I was into sports and school work. I was a Varsity Scholar Athlete.

RJACKMAN.COM: Are you the type to cook for your man?

LEXI: - I hope my man doesn’t read this. Honestly I don’t really know how to cook but I’m learning. I cooked a meal for my man the other night and he knew that everything I cooked was store bought. But I’m trying! I’m gonna get it down pack pretty soon though so it’s all good. I definitely want to be the type of woman that can throw down for her man.

RJACKMAN.COM: Do you eventually want children?

LEXI: - Absolutely. My sister just had a baby on mother’s day and I feel like he’s mine. Seeing him makes me realize that soomeday I absolutely want children of my own, but that’s way down the line right now..

RJACKMAN.COM: Whats the most romantic thing a significant other has done for you and vice versa?

LEXI: - I came back from a modeling job in New York and I had been gone for a couple of days and when I got back to my apartment my man had spelled out I love you with roses on the floor and put some rose petals on the bed and cooked me a delicious, romantic candle light dinner. I thought that was so sweet. He really catered to me.

RJACKMAN.COM: Did you ever go on a blind date?

LEXI: - No, but I actually did an episode of MTV’s Next a couple of weeks ago so that was the closest thing I’ve bee on to a blind date. It was really fun too. The producers said it was the best epsiode yet. Make sure you look out for it. I’m literally flying in the episode. It was very interesting.

RJACKMAN.COM: What was the weirdest or most fun date that youve been on?

LEXI: - I honestly haven’t been on a lot of dates.

RJACKMAN.COM: Describe what kind of woman you would be to your man.

LEXI: - A very unselfish trusting woman that caters to her man.

RJACKMAN.COM: People have fetishes. I have a friend that likes to holla at midgets. Personally, Im a sucker for a woman that isnt scared to change a tire or eat finger food. What would you say would be a weird fetish that you have?

LEXI: - Can’t really ut them in this interview. LOL.

RJACKMAN.COM: I doubt that Id go bunji jumping. Its strange that you would risk your life for no reason. Whats the craziest thing that you want to do in your life as far as just having fun or doing something daring?

LEXI: -The TV show that I’m shooting now has me doing a lot of daring things that I never would think I’d do so you’ll just have to tune in to see the craziest things I’ve done.

RJACKMAN.COM: To date, whats the craziest thing that youve done?

LEXI: - I just did it today while we were filming but I don’t want to give it away yet..

RJACKMAN.COM: The first thing I noticed about you after contacting you was that you were funny as hell! I was laughing extremely hard at your responses to my inquiries. I wasnt star struck but I actually thought I saw your aura like Charlie Murphy and Rick James. What stars would you like to meet and why?

LEXI: - HA HA!! That’s funny you would compare me to Charlie Murphy. He is so crazy. He as a wonderful personality. I’ve met a lot of stars being in the entertaiment business and it’s funny because everytime I say I want to meet someone I meet them like two weeks later. Never fails. I would want to meet legends though and as crazy as this may sound to some people I wouldn’t mind meeting Michael Jackson. I seriously doubt that happens in 2 weeks. lol.

RJACKMAN.COM: What would you like to accomplish and add to your resume in the next five to six years?

LEXI: - Wow I want so much I can’t even list it. But I want to be a household name. I wouldn’t mind having my own sitcom.

RJACKMAN.COM: What would you want the world to know about you that you may not think we know already?

LEXI: - I am very going down to earth and something interesting about me is that I own a pet monkey. Maybe that’s why I want to meet Michael Jackson. lol

RJACKMAN.COM: Where else can we see you doing your thing?

LEXI: - The sky’s the limit! I already mentioned the upcoming movie and tv shows, but ya’ll will have a lot to look forward to out of me… guaranteed.
