RJACKMAN.COM: Marisa, its good to meet you. I was doing my research on you and found that you were mixed. Can you tell us where you were born and raised and also what youre mixed with?
Marisa -i’m from connecticut and my mom is irish and norwegian and my dad is black and native american
RJACKMAN.COM: Thats a hell of a mix though. I know people always mistake you for a Latina. Do you think that helps your career at all?
MARISA:
i don’t think it makes a difference. it’s really annoying though when people just assume like that.
RJACKMAN.COM: How was it growing up mixed? Did you ever feel like you didnt fit in at all? Or was it more like damn, she has bangin skin. I gotta get at her or I want to be her friend?
MARISA:
i never fit in with the black kids. well the girls at least. i still don’t feel like i really fit in with black girls even now. i speak very “properly” and eloquently and the black kids teased me a lot about that. sometimes they still do.
RJACKMAN.COM: Smooth is one of my favorite magazines to read. They have a great eye for noticing beauty. Can you tell us how your spread went in Smooth and who else youve modeled for?
MARISA:
it was really cool. i went to NY for the shoot. there were 2 other girls in the spread as well. smooth is the only magazine i’ve done so far.
RJACKMAN.COM: Ive been made aware that you refuse to do porn, nude photography or anything that some would consider demeaning. What made you take that stance and how do you feel about other models and actresses doing nude photography and revealing all?
MARISA:
if some one else wants to do it, why would i care? that’s their business. i’m not one to judge anyone else. i’m just not going to do anything that my mom wouldn’t approve of. she supports my modeling 100% but draws the line at nudity.
RJACKMAN.COM: Would you be opposed to being in a BET uncut video? Lol.
MARISA:
I would never EVER do an uncut video. talk about career suicide.
RJACKMAN.COM: Okay, how do you decide who you will work with when approached with an offer?
MARISA:
i ask for complete details about every project. if i’m not approached in an extremely professional manner then i most likely won’t work with you. this isn’t a hobby, this is a business, ya dig?
RJACKMAN.COM: We understand you have your own website. What can your fans expect to see when they visit?
MARISA:
over 1,200 pictures with updates.
RJACKMAN.COM: A lot of models turn into actresses. Is that a field that you would consider venturing into?
MARISA:
yeah i would definitely be interested in acting at some point in the near future.
RJACKMAN.COM: What other avenues do you want to explore?
MARISA:
my mom is a lawyer and i’m toying with the idea of going to law school when i graduated.
RJACKMAN.COM: Alright, down to your personal life. I understand that youre not looking for a man. Why is that? Also, if one were to fall into your lap by happenstance would you deal with him?
MARISA:
i don’t look because when you look nothing ever works out. if some one comes along then great, but i’m not looking for it.
RJACKMAN.COM: What advice do you have for men or women trying to get with the beautiful Marisa Ross?
MARISA:
women? i’m definitely straight.
RJACKMAN.COM: When you were younger, did you ever feel that you would have been this successful in your career?
MARISA:
i never thought i would be a model. it’s just something that i tried one day and it worked out.
RJACKMAN.COM: What turns you on romantically?
MARISA:
some one educated. that’s the biggest thing. i don’t really date guys who aren’t in college or are college grads.
RJACKMAN.COM: What turns you off?
MARISA:
ignorance, thugs, stupidity, lack of manners, disrespect.
RJACKMAN.COM: Whats next for you?
MARISA:
just working on my portfolio and getting through my upcoming senior year of college.
